For creators

Not your recipe? Ask us to take it down.

We heard from a viewer that your channel was extracted into HomeMenu's Browse. If you'd like your channel's recipes removed, email us at creators@thehomemenu.com with one of the three verifications below.

How verification works

We need to confirm you actually own the channel before removing content — otherwise anyone could remove anyone else's recipes. Pick whichever verification path is easiest for you:

Channel string

Post a verification string in a video description or community-tab post

We'll email you a random string like `homemenu-verify-a7f2`. Post it in the description of any video on your channel (or as a text post on your community tab). Reply to our email once it's live. We'll check via the YouTube Data API. You can delete the post afterward. Best for: any creator with active upload access.

Domain email

Email us from an address on a domain listed on your YouTube About page

If your YouTube channel's About page lists a business email or website domain, email us from that domain. We'll cross-check the domain against your About page. Best for: creators with a business email that predates the request.

Business contact

If YouTube exposes a verified business contact email for your channel, email us from that address

Some larger YouTube channels have a verified business contact email that YouTube surfaces via the API. If that field is set for your channel, emailing us from it is the fastest verification. Best for: monetized channels with agent representation.

What happens next

  • Immediately — on receiving your request (before verification), we freeze your channel's recipes so they stop appearing in Browse while we verify.
  • Within ~48 hours — a human admin reviews your verification and confirms via email. Verifications outside business hours may take up to 72 hours.
  • On verification — every recipe attributed to your channel is soft-deleted from Browse. They stop appearing in search, Browse, and any share links. Saved copies in individual users' libraries are unaffected (they saved the recipe as their own reference).
  • If verification fails — the freeze auto-restores after 30 days. You're welcome to retry with a different verification path.

Other paths

If you believe your content is being reproduced (not just referenced), or if you're reporting impersonation, escalate to abuse@thehomemenu.com instead. That queue handles DMCA takedowns and impersonation reports on a stricter timeline.

HomeMenu operates as a directory — video-sourced Browse cards link OUT to the source URL and drive views back to your channel. We store extracted recipe facts (ingredients, times, servings) but never republish raw description or transcript text. The removal request above erases even the facts.
